The goal of TNR is to reduce the homeless feline population and prevent unnecessary animal suffering. Trap, Neuter, Release prevents homeless cats from breeding unwanted offspring and reduces nuisance behavior such as spraying, fighting, and yowling.

We provide daily care to over 100 community cats in Polk County. This includes feeding, socializing, and medical attention when needed. The community cats in our care are treated with kindness and compassion whether they are friendly or feral. Each animal we care for receives the utmost respect and love.

Although our mission is centered on the prevention of unnecessary breeding, we often encounter kittens or friendly community cats that deserve a chance at a different life. We work within our community and with other organizations to place friendly cats and kittens in loving homes.

Just One Cat Rescue has been serving the community for over four years. What started as a way to feed hungry strays has grown into a volunteer-based organization that feeds, spays, and cares for over 100 homeless cats in Polk County.

Just One Cat Rescue was founded by Super Trapper Karl and our Colony Care Specialist Candy. In addition to managing the day-to-day tasks, Karl is a trapper extraordinaire that is responsible for trapping hundreds of cats and kittens every year.

Candy is more than just a feeder; she is mama to over 100 colony cats in Polk County. Every cat has a name and a story and Candy can tell you every one! Candy provides the utmost love and affection to cats that have been abandoned by their families or born to the streets. Without her, these animals would never know kindness or love.

Nat joined the team in 2022 as our foster coordinator and 3rd string trapper. In addition to opening her home and heart to some of our neediest kittens and colony cats, Nat coordinates the emergency placement of our feline friends in need and assists foster families in caring for our soon-to-be adoptable pets.
